When I met you,
I began to idealize the version of you
that you revealed to me.

I came to this connection
with my paints and brush,
ready to create a masterpiece
you never knew existed.

I made you my canvas,
painting the portrait of the man
I desired most,
someone brave, honest, true,
and devoted to love.

I sketched the blueprint
upon your walls,
while you became my training ground.

Through you,
I learned how to love
with the fullest capacity of my heart,
to idealize,
to hope,
to dream.

I do not know
what emotions you carried for me,
or what I meant to you.

Yet I need you to know this:

Your connection transformed me
into someone I never knew
was waiting within me.

And for that,
I thank you
from the bottom of my heart,
for helping me discover
the depth of who I could become.
